Andrew McReynolds
Andrew McReynolds (He/Him/His) is currently a Ph.D. student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, pursuing his degree in the Learning Sciences & Technologies Program. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of San Francisco in December 2020. His diverse research background includes contributions to the Global Learning XPRIZE Finalist Team at the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute, and time as a research assistant in the Department of Psychology at Stanford University.
Andrew currently holds the position of a Graduate Research Assistant at WPI, working under the guidance of Dr. Jacob Whitehill and Dr. Stacy Shaw. In May 2023, he defended his master's thesis which examined the potential of AI-enhanced data visualizations in assisting teachers in identifying attention patterns during classroom video reviews. For the summer of 2023, Andrew will be a research intern at eedi under the direction of Dr. Simon Woodhead.
Andrew's research interests are centered on equity in education. His specific focus areas include leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance classroom video observations, gaining insights into teacher noticing practices in diverse classrooms, and advocating for the acknowledgment of the role of rest in enhancing the overall academic experience for students.
